Gokyo Trekking to Cho la Pass is one of well Adventure trekking in Everest Area of Nepal- Combined Treks to Gokyo valley Ri, Chola pass ((5,420m/17,782ft)) and Trek up to Everest base camp and Kalapattar. This fantastic trek visits all of the high valleys surrounding Everest culminating with the ascent of Kalapatter.
We begin our trek with an unforgettable mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Walking through delightful Sherpa villages we make our way to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. Here we have allowed time for essential acclimatization. Continuing higher to Gokyo's alpine lakes we explore the upper valley beneath the huge bulk of Cho Oyu. From here and from the top of Gokyo Ri (5357m/19,216ft) we have an unbelievable view of Everest and the surrounding peaks and glaciers.
We have extra time at Gokyo Lake to explore the upper valley, providing the most extensive view of Everest in the whole of the Khumbu. With time to explore villages and monasteries and to sample the incredible hospitality of the Sherpa people, this trek is unbeatable.
Your trek continues across the Cho La (5,420m/17,782ft) a classic pass which links Gokyo with the Khumbu Glacier and the small settlement of Lubuche. You ascent Kala Pattar (5,545m/18,192ft) for the best views of Everest followed by a tough trek along the Khumbu Glacier to Everest Base camp.And here at the foot of the mountain you can marvel at the spectacle of the great Khumbu icefall cascading from the ramparts of the West ridge With a sense of achievement and a little remorse. Our return journey will take us to Tengboche monastery, the most important centre of Buddhism in the area, before ending our trek at Lukla and another opportunity to experience the exciting mountain flight to Kathmandu.
